Leela Mumbai To Host 40th FHRAI Convention

Mahesh Tharani - Vadodara

The 40th annual convention of the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) will be held between October 29-31, 2004 at The Leela, Mumbai. This was decided at a meeting held on February 25 at the Taj Residency, Vadodara. Vivek Nair, president, FHRAI and also managing director, The Leela, said, “Though the dates and venue for the convention has been finalised, we are yet to decide on the theme and logistics for the event. The infrastructural needs of tourism in India and, globalisation and the industry are two topics that we are considering for the theme. The decision on it will be taken in Delhi next month.”

Nair said that the western region would make most of the decisions. "The impetus is on us this year and we have put forward suggestions and a framework for the convention. Usually all the regions adhere to the suggestion put forward by the region, so there won't be an exception this year in our plans," said Nair.
