The Evaluation Criteria
The award for the Best International Tourism Board was based on the following factors:
  • Number of Indian tourist arrivals in the last year (The period of April 1, 2002 to March 31, 2003).
  • Average duration of stay of Indian visitors to the respective country.
  • Average spends per Indian tourist as per records in US$.
  • Number of consular offices and their locations in India.
  • Five key specific initiatives that were undertaken to make the country an attractive destination for the Indian tourist. (For example: visa on arrivals for Indians etc)
  • Value of the marketing spends in the Indian market for the period April 1, 2002 to March 31, 2003.

In addition to the above, all financial statements submitted were certified by the Chartered Accountant of the nominee.
