Winners Speak - Sarovar Park Plaza

Anil Madhok, in conversation with Jyoti Koul, talks about his success and the organisation’s future plans and strategies

What does the award mean to you?

The award means a lot to all of us at Sarovar Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts Pvt Ltd. For a nine year old company such a major recognition will go a long way towards boosting the morale of everyone in our team. This also brings additional responsibility as we would not like to descend from the status awarded to us. It would definitely mean that everyone in our team has to work harder to ensure that we remain the best business hotel chain in the country.

What according to you was the secret to your success?

I guess the major reason for our success has been our ability to attract top level talent in the industry and retain them by providing them with a work environment that is human resource friendly. As per their experience, we give our executives and staff the required freedom to operate and encourage them to make decisions.

How do you plan to retain this success?

As mentioned earlier, it does bring in a lot of responsibility on everyone of us to work harder to retain this success. We as a company are doing a very careful review to make further investments into manpower and technology and reviewing our systems to make Sarovar Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts Pvt Ltd not only more efficient but also effective.

What are the company's future plans?

In the immediate future, we intend to aggressively expand our base in India, as we would wish to be a truly pan Indian organisation. We are also working on a national `Bake shop project' and no frill basic hotels across the country and looking at institutional catering.
