The award for the Best Luxury Hotel Chain Operator, which included hotels and resorts, in the five star deluxe category only, was based on the following factors:

• Gross Revenue from operations for all the luxury hotel properties ie Room revenue, F&B revenue and Other revenue. The period stipulated was from April 1, 2002 to March 31, 2003.
• Total room inventory in all listed properties as of March 31, 2003.
• Average room rate for the luxury chain properties last year.
• Net profit/loss from operations last fiscal year before any appropriations.
• Total number of employees in the luxury hotel operations as of March 2003.

All financial statements submitted were certified by the Chartered Accountant of the nominee.
