Started in the year 1997, Lakes and Lagoon is one of the leading house boat operators in Alappuzha. With a fleet of 10 houseboats which include air-conditioned deluxe houseboats. They are the first and only houseboat operator to be certified ISO 9001 and 2000 by ONV, Netherlands. They were the winner of the award for excellence in tourism for the 'best houseboat operator' in Kerala for the year 2001-02. Presently, Lakes and Lagoon caters and interacts will all major tour operators in the country. V C Zacharia, the managing partner of Lakes and Lagoon is also the president of the Keral Houseboat Owners Association.
