Karnataka Highlights Tourism Potential Of South India

The Karnataka tourism minister D B Inamdar praised the efforts undertaken by Kerala Tourism through initiatives like ‘Mystiques of Malabar’ and other similar efforts in promoting the tourism interests of the state. The Karnataka minister for tourism stressed the need to promote the tourism potential of south India. He further emphasised on the significance of Malabar, which goes up to the South Canara district of Karnataka, and cited the presence of some of the best game reserves, beaches, hill resorts and heritage palaces in the country. This is something that Karnataka is also keen to do for meeting their tourism objectives, the minister said. According to Inamdar, “There is a need for a tourist circuit covering the northern districts of Kerala and Karnataka, which would benefit both states. Kerala is already attracting tourists from Karnataka, and it would be of advantage if both states could join hands to present the cultural and traditional marvels of respective states to bring in more domestic as well as foreign tourists to the region.”
