Galileo India - IA Launch NII Accounting Package

Galileo India recently announced the launch of its Non-Intrusive Interface (NII) with Indian Airlines (IA) systems for its back-office accounting package - Galileo India Accountant Plus (GIA Plus). This non-intrusive independent interface, which has been exclusively, developed for Galileo by Vimaan India, a Bangalore-based Travel Solutions Provider, will allow automatic download of booking data from the agents’ IA terminals to GIA Plus. This is the first time such a facility is being offered to travel agents in the country by any CRS. With this, the agency’s back-office operations can be automated fully, and eliminate manual entries entirely.

Said Seema Luthra, general manager, Galileo India, “Galileo has been pursuing such innovations aggressively, with the objective of adding value to travel agents’ operations. This has taken us beyond the obvious, to hitherto neglected areas like back-office operations. We are sure that this product will contribute significantly to improving the efficiencies of travel agencies.”

Galileo India Accountant (GIA) and Vimaan are popular accounting packages used by travel agents across the country. Both Galileo and Vimaan launched upgraded back office accounting packages GIA Plus and iViman a few months back, which allowed automatic download of booking information from the booking file to the accounting packages. Besides this, Galileo has also launched Galileo Back Office Interface, which allows for automatic download of booking information to any compatible back office software, be it an accounting package, MIS package or any sales tracking tool.

Said Ganesh Ramachandra, COO, Vimaan India, “This is the first successful step of a number of initiatives that are being undertaken by Vimaan and Galileo to allow the benefits of technology to assist the travel agent in improving their bottomline.”
