Hyatt Regency, Mumbai, adjacent to
the citys international airport and positioned as a
gateway hotel, will finally launch its suites
this month, though the exact date has not yet been finalised.
The much delayed launch has been repeatedly delayed, as the
initial date was set for April 2003. The new suites will be
in addition to the 20 the hotel brought online when it opened
in December of 2002.
According to sources, the suites
are contemporary, quite unique in concept and design. A
lot of time has been devoted to the design aspect and special
features with changes being executed even after commencement
of work. This is probably the main reason for the delay,
revealed a source. The target market for the suites, according
to sources, will be both, the long stay guest
and corporate segment. The property will not have a rack rate
for the suites, instead it will function on a system called
Rate of the Day. Giving an example, the source
said, If the hotel room is going for US$ 100 a night,
the suites may be pegged at US$ 200.
