Lufthansa Flights To Asia Increased

Lufthansa has increased its offer of services to Asia from July end. It is again at the level prior to the outbreak of the SARS crisis on the routes from Frankfurt to Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. The number of the frequencies from Frankfurt to Beijing has been increased by 40 per cent from July 28. The Chinese capital is again being served with daily flights from Frankfurt. From September 12, instead of the smaller Airbus A340, the route will be served by a Boeing 747, so that the seat capacity of the aircraft will also increase. With three weekly flights from Munich to Shanghai, by September 2, Lufthansa will also extend another important part of its Asia program. Lufthansa passengers will thus also benefit from an even wider range of flights from the new modern Terminal 2 in Munich. “Asia is the most important future market for business and an attractive tourist destination. The demand in the Asian Traffic is increasing again and Lufthansa is responding rapidly and flexibly to offer passengers an optimal range of flights from our hubs in Frankfurt and Munich”, said Lufthansa German Airlines Executive Vice President Thierry Antinori in Beijing recently.

Lufthansa leads the European Airlines in the Asia traffic. “We want to retain and further develop this strength and take advantages of growth opportunities. That particularly applies to our leading position in the traffic to and from China,” said Antinori.
