Nepal Launches Summer Promotion Campaign To Attract Indian Tourists

Nepal Tourism Board, the apex body for the promotion of tourism to the Himalayan kingdom, has started a summer promotion campaign to attract Indians in conjunction with Kathmandu’s leading hotels. The value-for-money packages start at just Rs 3,999 per person for a three night-four day stay at any of the five major hotels in Kathmandu including the Soaltee Crowne Plaza, the Radisson, the Hyatt Regency, the Everest Hotel and Hotel de Annapurna.

The package is valid till August 31, 2003 and includes breakfast, use of in-house facilities like swimming pool and gym, sightseeing trips to Nepal’s most popular tourist must-sees - Pashupatinath, Bhaktapur, Patan and Swayambhunath. For tourists wanting a longer stay, there are equally economical packages on offer which include special offers like free casino coupons, free lunches and more.

“This is a concerted effort to promote Nepal as a safe, fun and value-for-money destination. By offering these extremely economical packages, we are trying to attract larger numbers of Indian tourists to Nepal. The Summer campaign is an outcome of a meticulous study of the tastes and expectations of Indian tourists. Nepal offers a value-for- money destination, be it product, service, price or experience. There is an entire gamut of activities ranging from nature, adventure, culture, religion, shopping, casinos, sight-seeing activities and many others specifically targeted towards the interest of Indian travellers,” said Tek Bahadur Dang, chief executive officer, Nepal Tourism Board.
