Ram Kohli, the doyen of the Indian tourism industry, is the new chairman elect of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA). The third Indian to hold the post after Inder Sharma and M P Bezbaruah, Kohli takes over the chairmanship, next year at Jeju, Korea. He has been actively associated with the PATA for long and has been the only Indian to chair the post of treasurer continuously for two terms. With him in the coveted post, one hopes India’s image abroad will improve and his proactiveness will benefit the Indian tourism industry immensely.
