ATC - Coca Cola Invite Indians To Face The Thunder Down Under

Maggie White

The Australian Tourist Commission (ATC) has teamed up with Coca Cola India for the Thums Up ‘Face the Thunder’ promotion, a 26-city road show that will scour the nation and reward the two fastest amateur batters with an Xtreme Australia Holiday to Sydney, Australia.

The Face the Thunder roadshow, which began in Karnataka on 29th December and finishes in Kolkata on February 11, 2003 will challenge cricket lovers to step-up to the Thums Up mobile cricket pitch and bat against a high speed bowling machine. Two national winners will be awarded a four day Xtreme adventure holiday to Sydney courtesy of the ATC.

Speaking from Kuala Lumpur, the ATC’s general manager, South and South East Asia, Maggie White said the Thums Up Challenge aims to give die-hard cricket fans an opportunity to join in the World Cup fever and learn more about holiday activities available in Australia.

White added that the development of the holiday prize was the genesis for a new type of adventure package released exclusively to the Indian market. “When we put together the four-day holiday prize to Sydney it looked so much fun that we decided to open it up to the broader Indian market. The ATC worked with Australian suppliers and the Indian Aussie Specialists travel agents to create three and four-day ‘Thums Up Xtreme Australia Holiday’ packages. “The Indian traveller is changing and becoming more included to take part in local activities and adventures.

While these extreme holiday packages appeal to a growing niche market, we have been mindful to custom design them for the Indian needs and have included specific touches such as India meals,” explains White.
