Abacus Updates FareX

ABACUS International recently unveiled its latest version of FareX - the industry’s most innovative net fares management and distribution solution. This net fares system provides both fares owners like airlines and travel agents with greater convenience in distributing and retrieving fares information. Airlines or travel agents will be able to manage, distribute and update negotiated fares information in Abacus reservation systems and websites, anytime, anywhere.

Currently used by more than 71 airlines sales locations and 20 wholesalers distributing locations across Asia Pacific, FareX provides a fully integrated fares solution that is connected to a complete suite of net fares, inventory and up-to-date flight information.

Abacus provides a fares input service that updates and distributes fares within 24 hours. With an end-to-end integrated solution, fare owners are now able to manage all net fares from one single location and distribute to both traditional and web-channels, drastically increasing time-to-market responsiveness.

Says John Lim, Abacus director, fares and loyalty programme: “The latest enhancements to the wholesaler module allow travel agents to create, manage and distribute corporate-specific fares. With automated net fares, corporate travellers will be able to quote fares faster and with greater accuracy by their servicing agents.”

FareX has been adapted to meet the distribution needs of fares owners with a auto down-line update. This function allows any changes at the fare source to be automatically filtered down-line, without any intervention from the fares recipient. Fare owners, including airlines and wholesalers, will be able to make fares changes faster and in a more timely fashion. FareX also allows airlines to control pricing levels of its inventory for a particular flight or day.

“Travellers know the options they have available to them. By enhancing FareX, airlines and travel agents can now easily manage their net fares structures, so that they can always offer the best prices,” said Lim.
