In
an effort to increase brand equity and client loyalty and
strengthen its market position, Galileo India has launched
InfoRail, a product that will offer railway information through
Galileo host system, after piloting it successfully. The leading
global travel and technology distribution company has developed
a software which enables agents to access information related
to passenger status inquiry, seat availability, fare and schedules
through Galileo host system.
Commenting on the product R Srikrishna, marketing manager
said, Railways provide all this information through
the Internet. The software developed by us interfaces with
the Internet to provide information in the Galileo host environment
on Galileo FocalPoint itself. Using a window of Galileo FocalPoint,
the agent can feed in the query for the information required
and the reply is flashed back on his General Message queue.
Galileo is positioning the product as a value-added information
service, which will enable their clients to service their
customers better. It is being installed free of cost. The
need, pointed out Krishna, was identified by travel agents
who so far have been accessing such information through RTAs,
Internet, time tables or railways reservation counters.
Now
we have integrated the information so that the agent wont
have to come out of the host system, he added. Ask Krishna
what prompted them to tread the railway turf, he responds
coolly, Galileo is committed to its goal of developing
the traditional travel agent into a total travel consultant.
The Indian Railways is an integral part of travel plans for
many end users. InfoRail empowers travel agents to service
that requirement better. Further, it enhances the quality
of service we offer our clients.
