Trails To Aggressively Promote Northern Kerala And Southern Karnataka

Lakshman V - Bangalore

Drawing parallels with the much-talked about Golden Triangle circuit in the North, Trails, a company floated by Bangalore-based R S Hospitality Services Ltd, is well on its way to majorly promoting the Malabar circuit region. With an aim to cash in on the changing face of tourism amongst southern states, the company has joined hands with the Karnataka tourism department to synergise its efforts and promote the circuit as a premier tourist destination in the entire Southern belt.

Says Jose T Ramapuram, director-marketing, Trails: “Firstly, the Karnataka government has been very proactive in tourism promotion. Secondly, Karnataka tourism department has already drawn out an exciting marketing campaign, that comprises a series of road shows and exhibitions, both within India and internationally. Lastly, our company cooperates with Karnataka tourism in its road shows, exhibitions, trade fairs within in India and abroad to promote our products. We have also been receiving continuous support from the department to promote the Malabar circuit, which was hitherto not projected in the right perspective.”

Apart from joining hands with the state tourism department in all its marketing initiatives, Trails has already earmarked high-profile properties targeted at top end tourists starting from Calicut and Vythiri sectors in Kerala and Coorg, Kabini, Mysore and Bangalore in Karnataka. Subsequently, the company has also taken up joint promotional works with big brands in FMCG, Telecom sectors in Mumbai and Gujarat regions. With a view to increase the awareness on exotic locales and properties available on the circuit.

The company is also banking on Malabar circuit packages to move up the value chain in a fluid market situation and simultaneously promote several of its individual properties like Orange County Resort, Coorg, Kadavu in Malabar region of Kerala and several other properties, which are in the pipeline.

Concluding Jose adds: “In the coming years, the Malabar circuit would be one of the most preferred circuits for tourists.”
