The
Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) recently
launched its official website amongst much fanfare.
The website www.iato.info not only showcases the association
but also acts as a complete travel guide. The website
is also an effort to reach out to people across the
globe.

official newsletter |
According
to Maharaj S Wahi, president, IATO, The website
incorporates the latest technologies ensuring accurate
and updated information. The design of the site is simple
and easy to navigate, keeping in mind a very large section
of first time Internet users. Apart from complete details
about the association ranging from its profile, brief
history, agenda, aims and objectives, the website provides
an insight into the associations activities.

The
site also provides details about past conventions and
refers to the achievements of the association. Besides
providing complete information on travel like destinations,
culture, tips on travel, packages, tours etc. One has
to log on to know what the site is all about.
Clearly standing out from the rest of the travel and
trade sites, it would also enable the association to
promote tourism and India as a destination to far-flung
areas. The site would be updated regularly and plans
are afoot to make it a unique travel web site, by introducing
maps of various cities, distance charts, fairs and festivals,
heritage sites and museums. The site would also feature
the associations official newsletter Bindia.
