Jet
Airways And Galileo Announce New Initiative For TAs
Jet Airways have unveiled a new facility, which gives travel agents
(TAs), the ability to print automated tickets of the airline in
their agency locations. This unique initiative has been partnered
in association with Galileo India and will prove to be beneficial
to travel agents across the country.
As a result of this partnership, Galileo India will provide their
subscribers in the trade (who meet their minimum segment booking
productivity levels on Jet Airways), an automated ticket printer
and it is targeted that such printers will be rolled out across
the country within the next few months.
Gaurang Shetty, general manager, marketing, Jet Airways mentioned
that the airlines endeavour was to provide automated tools
to travel trade business partners. With this new initiative, Galileo
subscribers will not have to write out manual tickets for Jet
Airways flights thereby enhancing their productivity levels, reducing
errors, and improving on end-services that Jet travellers receive
via the agency partners.
Galileo is pleased to partner with Jet Airways on this new development,
which will be welcomed by our subscribers. We hope to work closely
with the airline in the future and develop unique solutions for
the travel trade fraternity, asserted Raja Natesan, general manager,
Galileo India.

United Airlines Plan To Increase Network
Subsequent to the decision to relaunch its round-the-world-service
from New Delhi from April 1, United Airlines (UA) is looking at
spreading its services to other cities including Chennai and Mumbai.
Michael J Purchon, general manager-India had mentioned that the
airline was now offering a number of connecting services through
out India by working with other airlines. UA is looking at additional
cities in India, with great interest, and will need to get the
New Delhi service running smoothly and achieve profitability.
He further added that Chennai is a big market for the airline
as well as Bangalore. And South India as a whole is growing very
rapidly. As part of its launch activity, a series of road shows
would be organised in 10 cities.
Pointing out that UA would be creating history (as it would fly
all round the world) besides being the largest foreign airline
to fly out of New Delhi, operating 14 Boeing Jumbo 747-400 jets
per week from April 2, Purchon mentioned that the introduction
of round-the-world service, would make it the only airline with
single-carrier service. The decision to resume the service was
driven by rapid growth of the Indian market, especially increasing
customer demands in New Delhi for accessing the US, Europe and
Asia.
